Healthy Snacks for Weight Loss- Because Spring is in the Air
Hi Everyone.
Ahh, yes, spring is in the air. I love the sounds and smell of spring. The sound of the birds chirping with excitement while the earthy smells of melting snow and growing greens hit my nose.
No wonder spring is the time when many of us just want to get out and do things so the sun can warm our faces.
Spring is a great time for weight loss because it's just natural to be more active.
So the key is to fuel our bodies so we can enjoy extra activities.
Healthy Snacks for weight loss will also help fuel our bodies while curbing hunger pains between meals.
I don't know about you, but when I crave a snack I just want to keep it simple, so besides sharing my favorite easy snack ideas, we also found some interesting ones on the internet.
My Favorite Healthy Snacks for Weight Loss:
Fresh Fruit:
My first and favorite snack now and forever will be fresh fruit. It is healthy, low in calories and easy to digest.
Though apples and bananas are on top of my list (mainly because they are so convenient) any fresh fruit makes a satisfying snack.
Any fruits that are in season are usually good choices as they should be reasonable in price and ripened to maturity.
Homemade Soups:
As many of you may have guessed my second favorite snack is a cup of homemade soup.
Those of you familiar with our site I'm sure are not surprised. Soup is low in calories, yet high in nutrition. You can't beat it with a stick.
So check out all our friendly soup recipes. Many of our homemade and low calorie soups can be made in half an hour or less. Simply amazing.
Snack away my friends.

More Filling Snacks The Family Enjoys:
Hard Boiled Eggs
Egg Salad in celery sticks
Tuna Salad in celery sticks
Home made beef jerky
1/2 an avocado with a little hot sauce and crushed garlic mixed in. Just remove the seed and add the sauce and garlic (or add your own desired spices and flavors). Spoon and eat.
Raw Veggie Platter (with low calorie dip)
- Yes the usual plate of carrot and celery sticks with perhaps some raw broccoli, cauliflower, cucumber slices, mushrooms, radishes, spring onions or whatever else you may have on hand.
- Watch the dip as the dip will probably have more calories than the whole plate of veggies.
Bean Salad (this is very filling)- Any kind of beans will work. If you're in a rush open up a can of 6 bean salad and add a little Italian dressing on it.
Great filling snack if you're in a rush.
Almonds (or other nuts) - A small handful of almonds are great to help eliminate hunger.
Low Calorie Popcorn - Whether it is made in the microwave or popped with a popcorn popping machine, just make sure to avoid the butter and try to limit the salt. This makes popcorn a filling yet low calorie snack.
Yogurt - It doesn't have to be low fat yogurt and here's why. If you choose a low calorie yogurt that is fine, but the ones that have more fat in them tend to keep you satisfied for a longer period of time.
Other Easy Snack Suggestions:
Cottage cheese and salad
Apple slices with cubes of cheese
Plain jello or jello with fruit in it (mandarin sections and banana slices work well)
